Footprint Calculator

An ecological footprint is a measure of human demand on Earth's ecosystems. Sustainability is to conserve an ecological balance without depleting Earth's natural resources. Which means, that in order to live in a sustainable environment, our footprint must be at a reasonable level. If we don't avoid depletion of our resources, eventually things will become extinct. We use this measure to interpret our life choices by deciding which actions we shouldn't take, whether its from buying packaged food, or buying a car with very low millage.
I'm not the type of person to waste anything, I'd like to think that I care for the environment. Its our house, everyone should treat it with respect. I find this to be embarrassing... My footprint was calculated to 5.2 Earths, and requires 23.1 acres to support my lifestyle. To decrease my ecological footprint, I'd have to decrease the amount of gas I use, and the amount of packaged food I eat. Living on campus will decrease my footprint because I'd drive less, due to the shuttles, and also eating at Sovi.
